Educational improvement organizations have a proven history of supporting initiatives that integrate, supplement, and enhance educational programs that are not part of the school district's regular academic programming or curriculum.

Are all businesses eligible for the tax credits?
Businesses who already participate in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit [EITC] and/or the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit [OSTC] and support BWEF are eligible to receive tax credits of up to 75 percent of its contribution (up to $750,000) or 90 percent of its contribution if the same amount is donated in two consecutive tax years.

BWEF uses financial donations to support our faculty grants initiative. This allows us to achieve our mission of supporting excellence and innovation in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Businesses may direct their donation to a particular cause or initiative as desired.

- Determine Your Eligibility: Determine if your business qualifies for the EITC program by visiting the EITC Eligibility Guidelines page [PDF].
- Apply: Businesses can apply for EITC and OSTC through the Department of Community and Economic Development's single application system.
- Receive Approval by the State: Tax credit applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be approved until available tax credits are exhausted.
- Support BWEF: You can make a contribution to BWEF in support of our student scholarship or special initiatives funding within 60 days, then report back to the PA Department of Economic and Community development within 90 days.
- Receive Tax Credits: The amount of credit depends on the amount of the contribution and whether the applicant makes a one-year or two-year commitment.

On Nov. 2, 2021, BWEF received a $5,000 donation from Huntington National Bank through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The gift will be used to support BWEF's faculty innovation grants initiatives and special projects. We'd like to thank Huntington Bank for their support.
